Flight Instructor Rating – FI(H)

Providing tuition to train a candidate to enable them to provide instruction to students for single engine helicopters to LAPL(H), PPL(H) and Type Rating training.

30 hours Flight Instruction of which 25 hours shall be dual flight instruction. If two candidates are undertaking the course at the same time 5 hours of each individuals total may be undertaken with them flying together in the aircraft.
A minimum of one hour of night instruction flying will need to be completed if night instructing privileges are required.
A minimum of 125 hours Ground Instruction. An additional 5 hours of classroom based night instruction will need to be completed if night instructing privileges are required.
Final test conducted by an approved CAA Examiner. Candidate to demonstrate their Ground Tuition knowledge and Flight Tuition skills.

An applicant for an FI Certificate shall, prior to assessment of competence, have a total of 250 hours.
